The Translation
“The Supreme Lord said: O Partha, when a person completely casts off all desires of the mind, and finds satisfaction in the Self by the Self alone, then they are said to be established in steady wisdom.”

The primary characteristic of a liberated sage is the abandonment of all desires that arise in the mind. When one realizes the Supreme Self, they find absolute satisfaction within, and all external desires naturally drop away.
