अथ चेत्त्वमिमं धर्म्यं संग्रामं करिष्यसि | ततः स्वधर्मं कीर्तिं हित्वा पापमवाप्स्यसि ||२-३३||
atha cettvamimaṃ dharmyaṃ saṃgrāmaṃ na kariṣyasi . tataḥ svadharmaṃ kīrtiṃ ca hitvā pāpamavāpsyasi ||2-33||

The Translation

“If, however, you do not fight this righteous battle, you will abandon your duty and honor, and consequently incur sin.”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna warns Arjuna of the consequences of avoiding the battle: he will lose his honor and reputation, and incur the spiritual cost of neglecting his duty (Svadharma).
