The Translation
“All beings are unmanifest in their origin, manifest in their middle state, O Bharata, and unmanifest again in their end. What is there to grieve about in this?”

Krishna points out that all beings are unmanifest before birth, manifest in the middle state, and unmanifest again after death. He asks Arjuna why he should grieve over this temporary manifestation.

अव्यक्तादीनि भूतानि व्यक्तमध्यानि भारत
Beings are merely modifications of the elements. Before birth, they exist in their causal state (unmanifest), and after death, they return to that same causal state. The middle state is like a dream. Why grieve for a dream?
