“The soul is said to be unmanifest, unthinkable, and unchangeable. Therefore, knowing it as such, you should not grieve.”

अव्यक्तोऽयमचिन्त्योऽयमविकार्योऽयमुच्यते
Since the Self is unmanifest and unthinkable, it cannot be perceived by the senses. Grief is a modification of the mind, which belongs to the body. The Self, being avikarya (unchangeable), has no relation with grief.
