Verse 11.37 : Visvarupa Darsana Yoga "Vision of Cosmic Form"
Verse 37 of 55
“
The Translation
“And why should they not bow down to You, O Great Soul? You are greater than Brahma, the original creator. O Infinite One, Lord of the gods, Sanctuary of the universe, You are the Imperishable, being, non-being, and that which is beyond both.”
Commentary & Insights
Arjuna explains why the entire creation must offer reverence to the Lord, identifying Him as the imperishable source of both manifest existence and unmanifest potential.
Practical Application
1
Remind yourself today that you are more than your actions (*sat*) and your hidden potential (*asat*); you are the conscious observer (*tat paraṃ*) behind them.

Self-Reflection Prompts
- What does it mean to say God is 'being, non-being, and that which is beyond both' (sad-asat-tat-paraṃ)? How does this help us understand that the Divine cannot be put into any category?
- If Krishna is greater than the creator Brahma (garīyase brahmaṇaḥ), what does this tell us about the source of creation itself?

कस्माच्च ते न नमेरन्महात्मन्
गरीयसे ब्रह्मणोऽप्यादिकर्त्रे
The Lord is the ultimate Reality (Brahman) which is called 'akṣara' (imperishable). 'Sat' represents the effect which is perceived, 'asat' represents the cause which is unperceived, and 'tat param' is the transcendental consciousness which is free from all relations of cause and effect.
