Self-Reflection Prompts
- The river analogy (v28) shows a peaceful, natural return to the source. The moth analogy (v29) shows a foolish, desire-driven rush to self-destruction. How do these two represent the two ways of dying: one in wisdom, one in delusion?
- How do our modern desires (for status, money, sensory pleasure) act like the blazing fire that attracts the 'moth' of our attention to its own depletion?

11.29
यथा प्रदीप्तं ज्वलनं पतङ्गा
विशन्ति नाशाय समृद्धवेगाः
The river runs to the ocean naturally. The moth runs to the flame due to delusion, attracted by the color, which causes its death. The warriors on the battlefield are driven by both their natural destiny (like rivers) and their greedy, prideful ambition (like moths) which leads them to ruin.
