Self-Reflection Prompts
- What does it mean to be a 'mere instrument' (nimitta-mātram) of the Divine? How does this mindset remove stress, performance anxiety, and pride from our work?
- If everything is predetermined (nihatāḥ pūrvam eva), why does Krishna still ask Arjuna to stand up and fight? Why is our effort necessary if the outcome is already decided?

11.33
तस्मात्त्वमुत्तिष्ठ यशो लभस्व
जित्वा शत्रून् भुङ्क्ष्व राज्यं समृद्धम्
The Lord has already withdrawn the life-force of these warriors due to their past unrighteous karma. Arjuna is told to act as a secondary cause, a mere tool, so that he may receive the worldly credit (yashas) for the victory, while remaining free from karmic bondage by offering the agency to the Lord.
