Verse 1.9 : Arjuna Vishada Yoga "The Grief of Arjuna"
Verse 9 of 47
“
The Translation
“And there are many other heroes who are prepared to lay down their lives for my sake, equipped with various weapons, and all skilled in warfare.”
Commentary & Insights
Duryodhana refers to the rest of his allies from kingdoms across Bharatavarsha. He boasts that they are all tyaktajīvitāḥ—those who have renounced their lives for him. This is a chilling foreshadowing of the fate of the Kaurava army, as almost all of them will indeed die on this field.
Practical Application
1
Identify a commitment you have made and take one small action today to honor it, showing reliability to those who count on you.

Duryodhana inadvertently speaks the truth. Those who support Adharma are indeed throwing away their lives, as victory cannot dwell where righteousness is absent.
