The Translation

“O Krishna, I do not desire victory, nor kingdom, nor pleasures. Of what use is kingdom, O Govinda, or enjoyment, or even life itself?”

Commentary & Insights

Arjuna's despair reaches a peak. He tells Krishna that he has no desire for the fruits of victory. He addresses Krishna as Govinda (master of speech, or pleaser of cows/senses). He asks: What is the point of winning a kingdom or enjoying pleasures if the people we want to share them with are dead?

Practical Application
1

In moments of apathy, re-evaluate what truly matters to you. What are your core values when external rewards seem meaningless?
