यावदेतान्निरीक्षेऽहं योद्धुकामानवस्थितान् | कैर्मया सह योद्धव्यमस्मिन् रणसमुद्यमे ||१-२२||
yāvadetānnirikṣe.ahaṃ yoddhukāmānavasthitān . kairmayā saha yoddhavyamasmin raṇasamudyame ||1-22||

The Translation

“so that I may behold those who stand here eager to fight, and with whom I must contend in this great battle.”

Commentary & Insights

Arjuna explains his purpose for standing in the middle of the field: he wants to inspect the Kuru forces and see exactly who has come to fight. He is confident and ready, referring to the war as a 'battle-enterprise' (raṇasamudyame).
