Verse 1.3 : Arjuna Vishada Yoga "The Grief of Arjuna"
“Behold, O Teacher, this mighty army of the sons of Pandu, arranged in battle formation by the son of Drupada, your talented disciple.”
Duryodhana points out the Pandava commander-in-chief, Dhrishtadyumna, who is the son of King Drupada. There is a deep history here: Drupada had performed a sacrifice to obtain a son who would kill Dronacharya. Despite knowing this prophecy, Dronacharya had accepted Dhrishtadyumna as a student and taught him the secrets of archery. Duryodhana is highlighting Drona's own kindness as a mistake that now endangers their army.
Notice if you are bringing past grievances or resentments into a current conversation, and choose to focus on the present reality.
- Have you ever had a past kind act or duty thrown back in your face? How did you react, and how can you maintain composure in such moments?
- Identify instances in your life where you might be manipulating others out of your own fear.

Duryodhana uses the word 'dhīmatā' (intelligent) ironically to remind Drona that his student is smart enough to turn Drona's own teachings against him, trying to spark anger in Drona's heart.
