The Translation
“Those for whose sake we desire kingdom, enjoyments, and pleasures are standing here in battle, having renounced their lives and wealth—”
Commentary & Insights
Arjuna points out that the very reason they wanted the kingdom and wealth was to share them with their family and teachers. Now, those very people are standing on the battlefield, prepared to sacrifice their lives and assets. For Arjuna, the goal of the war has become self-defeating.
