Commentary & Insights
King Duryodhana, despite having a larger army of eleven divisions, feels a sudden wave of apprehension upon seeing the highly structured, strategic arrangement (vyūha) of the Pandava forces. To cover his nervousness, he immediately approaches his teacher, Dronacharya, under the guise of paying respect, but in reality to seek comfort and manipulate him.
Practical Application
1
When faced with a challenge today, focus on your own resources and actions instead of comparison-driven anxiety about others' capabilities.

Self-Reflection Prompts
- Think of a time when your external confidence was tested by a difficult situation. Did you look inward for strength, or did you run to external systems for validation?
- How do you distinguish between genuine courage and the superficial bravado displayed by Duryodhana?

सञ्जय उवाच
Duryodhana is addressed as 'King' but his behavior of rushing to Drona reveals his dependency. His royalty is external; internally, he is a slave to fear and attachment.
