“For the sage who wishes to ascend to the heights of Yoga, selfless action is said to be the means. For one who has ascended to Yoga, silence and tranquility are said to be the means.”

आरुरुक्षोर्मुनेर्योगं कर्म कारणमुच्यते
For a beginner, work destroys mental impurities (Rajas/Tamas). Once the mind is purified and steady, the sage no longer needs active work; they remain in the quiet contemplation of the Self (Sama).
