The Translation
“O son of Pandu, know that what they call renunciation is identical to Yoga. For no one can become a yogi without renouncing selfish desires and projections.”

यं संन्यासमिति प्राहुर्योगं तं विद्धि पाण्डव
Sankalpa is the mind's imagination that 'this action will bring me this result.' This imagination is the root cause of all desire. Renouncing this mental projection is the true meaning of both Sanyasa and Yoga.
