“sitting on that seat, making the mind one-pointed, with the actions of the mind and senses controlled, let him practice Yoga for the purification of the self.”

तत्रैकाग्रं मनः कृत्वा यतचित्तेन्द्रियक्रियः
One-pointedness is attained by withdrawing the mind from all other memories and plans. The purpose is not to gain mystical powers, but to clean the mind of all obstacles to self-knowledge.
