The Translation

“But what is the need of all this detailed knowledge, O Arjuna? I support this entire universe by a single fraction of My energy.”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna concludes Chapter 10 with a majestic, mind-expanding declaration, telling Arjuna that there is no need to analyze every individual splendor, as the entire cosmos is sustained by a mere fraction of His energy.

Practical Application
1

When feeling overwhelmed by chores or problems today, step back, look at the night sky or imagine the vastness of the universe, and let your worries shrink in perspective.

Self-Reflection Prompts
  • If our entire physical universe—with its billions of galaxies, stars, and planets—is supported by just a 'single fraction' (*ekāṃśena*) of the Divine energy, how vast and incomprehensible must the transcendent Divine itself be?
  • How does this final verse prepare Arjuna (and us) for Chapter 11, where Krishna will actually show His cosmic form (*Vishwarupa*)?
