The Translation

“Among the great sages I am Bhrigu; among utterances I am the single syllable OM; among sacrifices I am the sacrifice of silent chanting (Japa-yajna); and among immovable things I am the Himalayas.”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna highlights the peak of spiritual practices and physical stability, introducing Japa (silent chanting) as the highest form of sacrifice.

Practical Application
1

Spend 3 minutes repeating a calming word or mantra (like OM or peace) silently to yourself today, anchoring your mind completely on the sound.

Self-Reflection Prompts
  • Why is silent chanting (*Japa*) called the highest sacrifice? How does repeating a sacred sound internally create a quiet sanctuary inside your mind during a busy workday?
  • The Himalayas represent silence, majesty, and unshakeable strength. How can we cultivate the unshakeable nature of the Himalayas within our own values?
