The Translation

“Neither the hosts of demigods nor the great sages know My origin, for I am the source of all the demigods and the great sages in every respect.”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna points out that even celestial beings and great sages, who possess advanced intellects, cannot comprehend the ultimate origin of the Divine because they themselves are born from it.

Practical Application
1

Identify a complex problem or mystery you are stressing over today. Practice intellectual humility by accepting that you don't need to know all the answers right now.

Self-Reflection Prompts
  • If even the great sages and gods cannot fully grasp God's origin, how does this teach us intellectual humility when discussing spiritual topics?
  • How can we connect with the Divine if He is beyond the grasp of our rational intellect? (Sages note: Through love and surrender, rather than intellectual analysis.)
