The Translation

“Among the Daityas (demons) I am Prahlada; among calculators I am Time; among wild beasts I am the Lion; and among birds I am Garuda (the vehicle of Vishnu).”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna shows that devotion can blossom in toxic environments (Prahlada), and identifies Himself as the ultimate force of change and subdual—Time.

Practical Application
1

If you are in a difficult environment or situation today, act like Prahlada: keep your inner focus anchored in peace, independent of the chaos around you.

Self-Reflection Prompts
  • Prahlada was born in a demoniac family, yet became the highest devotee. How does this show that our external environment and lineage cannot stop our inner spiritual growth?
  • Time (*kāla*) is described as the ultimate subduer. How can we use the understanding of Time's power to live in the present moment rather than hoarding for a temporary future?
