“Intellect, wisdom, freedom from doubt, forgiveness, truthfulness, control of the senses, control of the mind, pleasure, pain, birth, death, fear, and fearlessness...”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna lists ten psychological traits and experiences, explaining that all mental functions and existential states are expressions of the Divine energy.

Practical Application
1

When you feel fear (*bhayam*) or pain (*duḥkhaṃ*) today, label it as a passing energy in your mind, and choose to respond with composure (*śamaḥ*) and clarity (*asammohaḥ*).

Self-Reflection Prompts
  • If both pleasure and pain, fear and fearlessness, come from the Divine energy, how does this help us accept all emotional states with equanimity, rather than fighting them?
  • Which of these qualities (like *kṣamā* or *satyam*) do you feel the most need to cultivate in your life today?
