Self-Reflection Prompts
- Shankara represents destruction, yet His name literally means 'the giver of peace and auspiciousness'. How does this teach us that destruction of the old is necessary for the birth of the new?
- Mount Meru represents the stable center of the cosmos. How can we find Mount Meru's stability inside our own hearts during a chaotic day?

10.23
रुद्राणां शङ्करश्चास्मि वित्तेशो यक्षरक्षसाम्
Shankara is Shiva, the lord of auspiciousness and the destroyer of ignorance. Pavaka (fire) is the chief among the Vasus, acting as the mouth of the gods. Mount Meru is the center of the physical and celestial worlds. These highlight the highest qualities of stability, purity, and peace.
