“Indeed, You alone know Yourself by Your own Self, O Supreme Person, Creator of beings, Lord of beings, God of gods, Ruler of the universe!”

स्वयमेवात्मनात्मानं वेत्थ त्वं पुरुषोत्तम
Brahman is self-luminous (Sva-prakasha). Just as we do not need a candle to see the sun, we do not need any external knowledge to know Brahman; Brahman is known only by Himself. Arjuna addresses Him with these titles to praise His diverse functional relations to the world while holding Him as the non-dual supreme.
