The Translation
“That unwavering fortitude (Dhriti) by which one controls the activities of the mind, the life-breaths (pranas), and the senses through the yoga of meditation, O Partha, is in the mode of goodness (Sattvik).”
Commentary & Insights
Krishna defines Sattvik fortitude (dhriti). In Yoga, dhriti is the mental stamina that allows a practitioner to sit in meditation, control their life forces (prana), and withstand physical and mental distractions.

धृत्या यया धारयते मनःप्राणेन्द्रियक्रियाः
Shankara comments that 'avyabhicāriṇyā' is that determination which is single-pointed, never turning away from the path of realization. A seeker uses this fortitude to prevent the mind and senses from running after external objects, directing them inward to the Atman. This represents the peak of yogic will.
