The Translation
“The doer who is passionate, who seeks the fruits of action, who is greedy, violent, impure, and who is swayed by joy and sorrow, is declared to be in the mode of passion (Rajasic).”
Commentary & Insights
Krishna defines the worker acting under Rajas (passion). This doer is emotionally turbulent and highly selfish. In the context of ancient battles and corporate struggles, this represents the individual who is driven by greed and aggression, treating others as stepping stones.

18.27
रागी कर्मफलप्रेप्सुर्लुब्धो हिंसात्मकोऽशुचिः
Shankara comments that the Rajasic doer is 'rāgī' because they are highly attached to their wives, children, and wealth. They are 'aśuciḥ' because they do not maintain internal purity of thoughts. They are 'harṣa-śoka-anvitaḥ' because their happiness depends entirely on outer events, keeping their mind in constant agitation.
