The Translation
“Devoted to their own natural duty, each human being attains absolute perfection. Hear now how one who is dedicated to their natural duty attains that perfection.”

Krishna delivers a message of spiritual equality. In the Vedic view, enlightenment is not a privilege reserved solely for monks or priests. Every individual, regardless of their social role, can achieve spiritual perfection by dedicating themselves to their natural work.

स्वे स्वे कर्मण्यभिरतः संसिद्धिं लभते नरः
Shankara comments that 'saṃsiddhiḥ' is the eligibility for the knowledge of the Self. By performing our natural duties selflessly, we exhaust our mental desires and impurities. This makes the mind calm and transparent, leading directly to the dawn of Advaita realization. He invites the seeker to learn this method.
