The Translation
“The wise renouncer, established in goodness (Sattva), with all doubts dispelled, neither hates disagreeable work nor is attached to agreeable work.”
Commentary & Insights
Krishna paints a portrait of a true renouncer (tyagi) established in the mode of goodness (Sattva). Such a person has integrated the teaching of Karma Yoga and lives in a state of constant mental clarity and peace on the battlefield of life.

न द्वेष्ट्यकुशलं कर्म कुशले नानुषज्जते
Shankara comments that a true tyagi does not react with anger when faced with painful duties, nor does he crave pleasure-giving tasks. His mind remains anchored in the Atman, realizing that all work is merely modifications of the Gunas. His doubts about the non-dual truth are completely cut by realization.
