The Translation

“Free from egoism, brute force, pride, lust, anger, and possessiveness, devoid of the sense of ownership, and tranquil in mind, such a person is fit for becoming one with Brahman.”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna lists the final psychological obstacles that must be discarded to attain Brahman-realization. These represent the ultimate layers of egoism and possessiveness that keep the human soul bound to suffering.

Practical Application
1

Notice when your mind says 'this is mine' or 'I want credit,' and gently remind yourself to act without requiring ownership.

  • How does the mental habit of hoarding (*parigraha*) reflect an underlying insecurity? How does inner peace (*śānti*) resolve this?
