Verse 55 of 78
“
The Translation
“By devotion he comes to know Me in truth, who and what I am. Then, having known Me in truth, he enters into My supreme being immediately.”
Commentary & Insights
Krishna reveals the synthesis of knowledge (Jnana) and devotion (Bhakti). In ancient Indian philosophy, there was a debate on whether knowledge or love was superior; Krishna declares that they are one, as deep love leads to true knowledge, which culminates in union.

1
Approach your relationships today with simple, authentic love, seeking to understand the other person in truth.

Self-Reflection Prompts
- What does it mean to 'enter' into the Divine? Is it a physical movement, or is it a shift in consciousness where the boundary between self and God dissolves?
- How does love (Bhakti) act as the key that unlocks the deepest intellectual understanding (Jnana) of God?

भक्त्या मामभिजानाति यावान्यश्चास्मि तत्त्वतः
To know God in truth means to realize that the individual self and the supreme Self are one. There is no distance or difference between them. When this non-dual knowledge becomes firm, the illusion of separation ends, and the jiva enters (becomes) Brahman.
