Verse 32 of 35
“
The Translation
“Being beginningless and devoid of material qualities, this Supreme Self is imperishable. Even though dwelling within the physical body, O son of Kunti, It neither acts nor is tainted.”
Commentary & Insights
Krishna addresses a common doubt: if the Supreme Self dwells within the physical body, does it become contaminated by the body's sicknesses, sins, and decay?
Practical Application
1
When feeling sick or emotionally drained today, remind yourself: 'My body is experiencing fatigue, but my core awareness remains untainted and pure.'

Self-Reflection Prompts
- If your true Self 'neither acts nor is tainted' (na karoti na lipyate), how does this protect you from feeling permanently damaged or defined by your past mistakes?
- How can we practice connecting with this untainted, ever-pure center within ourselves when we feel emotionally overwhelmed?

13.32
अनादित्वान्निर्गुणत्वात्परमात्मायमव्ययः
The body undergoes changes like birth and death, but the Atman, being 'anādi' and 'nirguṇa', has no parts to change. Action requires desires and limbs; since the Self has neither, It does not act. Because It does not act, It is not bound by the results of action (na lipyate). It remains ever-pure, like space.
