Self-Reflection Prompts
- If every creature is a union of matter (Kshetra) and spirit (Kshetrajna), how does this view prevent us from treating nature or animals as mere 'dead objects'?
- How does this combination of matter and spirit play out in your own daily experiences? Can you observe the soil (your body) and the seed (your awareness) working together?

यावत्सञ्जायते किञ्चित्सत्त्वं स्थावरजङ्गमम्
The union of the field and the knower is not a physical contact like two stones touching. It is an illusory identification (Adhyasa) where the qualities of the body are superimposed on the Atman, and the consciousness of the Atman is attributed to the body. Breaking this false union is the goal of self-knowledge.
