असक्तिरनभिष्वङ्गः पुत्रदारगृहादिषु
Attachment is liking objects; abhiṣvaṅgaḥ is complete identification (feeling that another's happiness or sorrow is one's own). While duty to family must be performed, one must realize that their true Self is independent. Even-mindedness means the mind does not contract in pain or expand in joy when facing external events.
