Self-Reflection Prompts
- How is Consciousness like a movie screen (sarva-bhṛt)? How can we find this screen-like quality within ourselves when facing painful emotions?
- What does it mean to be 'in the world but not of the world' (asaktaṃ)? How does this verse guide our daily actions?

13.15
सर्वेन्द्रियगुणाभासं सर्वेन्द्रियविवर्जितम्
Brahman is 'sarvendriyaguṇābhāsaṃ' because all sensory perceptions are illumined by Its consciousness. Yet It is 'sarvendriyavivarjitam' because it is pure consciousness and has no physical organs. It is 'asaktaṃ' because it has no relations, but 'sarva-bhṛt' because the illusory appearance of the world requires Brahman as its substratum, just as a rope supports the illusion of a snake.
