“Some offer material possessions as sacrifice; others perform sacrifices of penance; others practice the yoga of eightfold path; while others, of rigid vows, offer study of scriptures and knowledge.”

द्रव्ययज्ञास्तपोयज्ञा योगयज्ञास्तथापरे
Dravya yajna is giving charity to the needy. Tapa yajna is fasting and self-denial. Yoga yajna is controlling the mind. Svadhyaya yajna is reciting Vedas. Jnana yajna is reflecting on Upanishads. All are valid tools of purification.
