The Translation
“As a blazing fire turns firewood to ashes, O Arjuna, so does the fire of knowledge burn all actions to ashes.”

यथैधांसि समिद्धोऽग्निर्भस्मसात्कुरुतेऽर्जुन
Knowledge destroys both sanchita karma (accumulated past actions) and kriyamana karma (current actions). It does not stop prarabdha karma (actions that have already begun to bear fruit in this current body), which must run its course, just as an arrow shot from a bow must reach its target.
