The Translation
“Smoke, night, the dark fortnight, the six months of the southern solstice—departing at these times, the yogi reaches the lunar light and returns.”

धूमो रात्रिस्तथा कृष्णः षण्मासा दक्षिणायनम्
This path is presided over by the deities of smoke, night, etc. It is followed by those who perform ritualistic actions (Karma) for worldly and heavenly desires. They reach the sphere of the moon to enjoy celestial pleasures and are reborn when their karma runs out.
