The Translation

“This divine energy of Mine, composed of the three modes of nature, is difficult to cross over. But those who surrender to Me alone cross over this illusion.”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna declares that His divine illusion (Maya), made of the Gunas, is extremely difficult to cross, promising that only those who surrender to Him cross over it.

Practical Application
1

When caught in social comparison or status anxiety today, surrender the ego's need to prove itself, and anchor your mind in your core values instead.

Self-Reflection Prompts
  • What is *Maya*? Is it a fake world, or is it our distorted perception of a real world? How does surrender remove the distortion?
  • Why is it impossible to defeat the ego (Maya) by using the ego itself (willpower)? Why is surrender to a higher power required?
