“The worshippers of the demigods go to the demigods; the worshippers of the ancestors go to the ancestors; the worshippers of the spirits go to the spirits; and those who worship Me come to Me.”

यान्ति देवव्रता देवान्पितॄन्यान्ति पितृव्रताः
The effort in all these forms of worship is similar, yet the results are vastly different due to the difference in the object. Worshipping finite entities leads to finite, transmigratory states. Worshipping the infinite Self leads to the infinite state of liberation.
