कर्मेन्द्रियाणि संयम्यआस्ते मनसा स्मरन् | इन्द्रियार्थान्विमूढात्मा मिथ्याचारःउच्यते ||३-६||
karmendriyāṇi saṃyamya ya āste manasā smaran . indriyārthānvimūḍhātmā mithyācāraḥ sa ucyate ||3-6||

The Translation

“One who restrains their physical senses of action, but continues to dwell on sense objects in their mind, is a deluded soul and is called a hypocrite.”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna warns against the danger of false asceticism, where one pretends to be controlled outwardly but remains mentally attached to sensory pleasures, calling such a person a hypocrite.
