The Translation
“But he who knows the truth, O mighty-armed one, about the respective spheres of the modes of nature and actions, realizes that the modes are merely interacting with the modes, and does not become attached.”
Commentary & Insights
Krishna describes the perspective of the self-realized sage, who understands the distinction between the modes of nature (Gunas) and the true Self, remaining unattached.

तत्त्ववित्तु महाबाहो गुणकर्मविभागयोः
Shankara explains that the tattvavit is one who understands that the Self is distinct from the body-mind complex, and therefore they do not identify with the actions of the senses.
