श्रोत्रं चक्षुः स्पर्शनं च रसनं घ्राणमेव च
Shankara comments that the Jiva, though transcendent, associates with the mind and the five senses. It is through these instruments of perception that it acts and experiences the external world, mistakenly identifying itself as the experiencer.
