The Translation

“The omnipresent Lord does not accept anyone's sin nor anyone's virtue. Knowledge is covered by ignorance; therefore, living beings are deluded.”

Commentary & Insights

Krishna clarifies that the Divine does not take on anyone's good or bad deeds, explaining that humans are deluded because their wisdom is covered by ignorance.

Practical Application
1

Release a feeling of guilt today: remind yourself that your past mistakes were products of ignorance, and choose to act with wisdom and awareness now.

Self-Reflection Prompts
  • How does the concept of a neutral, all-pervading Lord (*vibhuḥ*) differ from the concept of a judging, angry God? Which brings more peace?
  • If our true wisdom is merely 'covered' by ignorance, how does that show that enlightenment is a process of removing covers rather than adding something new?
