Self-Reflection Prompts
- How does 'darkness' (aprakāśaḥ) manifest in your mind when you feel confused and unable to make decisions? How can you bring light back into this state?
- Why is 'laziness' (apravṛttiḥ) different from 'peace'? (Peace is active and alert; laziness is dull and heavy).

14.13
अप्रकाशोऽप्रवृत्तिश्च प्रमादो मोह एव च
Aprakāśaḥ is the complete absence of discrimination. Apravṛttiḥ is the lack of effort to do even necessary duties. Mohaḥ is the stupor that makes one do the opposite of what is right. These are the signs of increased Tamas, which drag a person down into animal-like ignorance.
