Self-Reflection Prompts
- Why is 'efficiency' (dakṣa) listed as a spiritual quality? How does working without personal anxiety make us more efficient?
- What does it mean to be 'indifferent' (udāsīnaḥ) in a world that constantly demands we take sides and get angry?

12.16
अनपेक्षः शुचिर्दक्ष उदासीनो गतव्यथः
Anapekshah means indifferent to the body and senses. Dakshah means prompt and efficient in duties when they arise, without wasting time. Renouncing all undertakings means giving up actions motivated by personal desire (Kamya Karma). The devotee acts only for the maintenance of the body or the welfare of the world, free from the sense of agency.
